ECIR 2026: In-Person Conference

ECIR 2026 will be an in-person event, fostering direct engagement, networking, and the dynamic exchange of research ideas. This format enhances the conference experience and strengthens our research community, particularly by welcoming students and newcomers.

Presentation Formats:

  • Full Papers – Oral presentation
  • Findings – Oral presentation
  • Short Papers – Poster
  • Reproducibility Papers – TBD
  • Demo Papers – Table demonstration + Poster

  • CLEF Papers – Oral presentation
  • DC Papers – Oral presentation
  • Industry Day Papers – Oral presentation
  • IR4GOOD Papers – Oral presentation (Main conference track)
  • Workshops/Tutorials – Presentation details provided by Track Chairs
  • Selected IRRRJ papers – Oral presentation

All accepted papers (oral and poster) must be presented in person. At least one author per paper/poster must attend to present and participate in the Q&A. Pre-recorded videos will not be accepted.

Proxy Presenters

In exceptional cases, if authors cannot attend, they must designate a registered proxy presenter. The proxy must be prepared to present and discuss the work. Authors are responsible for selecting a knowledgeable proxy and ensuring they understand the paper's content.

Regardless of the presenter, at least one author must register for the conference. Proxy presenters must also be registered attendees. We encourage authors to plan ahead and rehearse with their proxies.
